Dear Rick, Kris, Ryan, Jim, Barb, Pat and Bill

Dear Rick, Kris, Ryan, Jim, Barb, Pat and Bill,

Last night a gust of wind came and knocked things off the side of my refrigerator, I was lucky enough to pick up the most beautiful Easter decoration Kyle had made for the “Brozak’s”.  Underneath that was a really cool Halloween decoration Kyle had made for the “Brozak’s”.  Underneath that was a perfectly designed card that Kyle had made with my name on it.  Underneath that was a card he had made after we had had a fun time with him, on the card it said “Brozak’s – I’m Happy – Kyle”.  This says it all, in his condition, he had the grace to tell us he was happy .. to make us smile.

Then I walked past Nick’s room, usually I just glance at the mounds of  parafanalia on the floor, shake my head and walk away.  I stopped – on Nick’s dresser front and center was the last birthday card Kyle had made Nick.  On his door handle was the door knocker Kyle had created for Nick – Nick spelled “KICN” with all of their favorite things on it – footballs, baseballs.  On Nick’s headboard, front and center, was the book I got him for Valentine’s Day “The Boy of Steel”.  A midst this messy room, was Kyle.

I laid on Anna’s bed and talked while she focused on her homework.  Kyle was all around us.  On her closet door was a rainbow he had made for her, a signed original; in the bottom right corner was the letter ‘Ky’ – he ran out of room, so above the ‘y’ was an ‘l’; ran out of room again, so above the ‘l’ was an ‘e’.  Her door knocker, again created with all of their favorite things – volleyballs, basketballs, baseballs; “ANNA” proudly across the middle.  A beautiful collage of their life together hung front and center, framed pictures of the two of them on any open space.  A framed picture of the last snowman Kyle drew for Anna lay on the floor, as the frame she bought for it does not do it justice – she wants to replace it.  Her handmade necklace, bracelet .. her Spiderman watch all displayed proudly.

For all of the photo sessions, for all of the art and craft sessions, for all of your talks to and with Kyle that included the “Brozak’s” we thank you.  Kyle would never have known to be so amazing without an amazing group of people to guide him.  As our hearts break for all of you, we thank you, thank you, thank you for allowing us to be part of Kyle’s life.

Our love forever, the “Brozak’s”

P.S. Behind me, on my wall at work, is the “Kyle Wall of Fame”.  A mix of  the personalities of Kyle, what a riot.
